About the Author:
Karen Mahony founded Baba Studio with Alex Ukolov in 2002. Their work has since appeared in numerous design magazines and New Age publications in the US and Europe. Baba Studio’s illustrations now appear on internationally licensed products such as needlework kits.
Alex Ukolov is an artist and designer specializing in using traditional Russian styles and techniques with a fresh modern twist. Originally from the Crimea, he now lives in Prague, where he is Creative Director of Baba Studio.
